CRA SRP • OUTAGE PROCEDURE

What should manufacturers do if the CRA SRP is temporarily unavailable?

What ENISA currently says manufacturers should do if the CRA Single Reporting Platform is temporarily unavailable during an Article 14 reporting event.

Last reviewed 20 September 2026 against current European Commission and ENISA guidance.

ENISA's current guidance

ENISA says mandatory notifications still need to be submitted through the Single Reporting Platform. If the SRP is temporarily unavailable, manufacturers should wait until it becomes available again and then submit the required notification through the platform.

What if immediate communication is necessary?

ENISA states that manufacturers may contact their designated CSIRT directly if they consider immediate communication necessary before the SRP is restored. However, the notification must still be submitted through the SRP once it becomes available again.

Operational preparation

Your incident runbook should preserve the awareness timestamp, deadline calculations, attempted submission history and the review-ready report pack even if the regulatory platform is unavailable. CyberAct24's role is preparation and evidence organisation, not replacing the official platform.

Frequently asked questions

Can I permanently report by email if the SRP is down?

No. ENISA says the mandatory notification still has to be submitted through the SRP once the platform is available again.

Can I contact the CSIRT during an outage?

ENISA says manufacturers may contact the designated CSIRT directly if immediate communication is considered necessary before restoration.

Should we record attempted submission times?

Keeping a clear internal record of awareness time, deadlines, review and submission attempts is prudent operational practice, even though CyberAct24 does not determine legal sufficiency.
